Anastasia Schmidlin is a multiple international award-winning clarinetist, performing regularly as a soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician. She is the principal clarinetist of the Ensemble Symphonique de Genève, a member of the contemporary music ensemble Dissolution, and performs with her duo partner, pianist Denis Zhdanov.
The Luzerner Zeitung praised her for her “fascinating tone quality in all registers, stupendous technique, and immense expressiveness” and emphasized: “Schmidlin has [...] star charisma.”
As a soloist, she has performed with renowned Swiss orchestras such as the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester and the Argovia Philharmonic and has collaborated with distinguished artists including Yuri Temirkanov, Heinz Holliger, and Dieter Ammann. She has also played with esteemed ensembles and orchestras, including the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana and the Collegium Novum Zürich.
Anastasia has appeared at prestigious festivals such as the Lucerne Festival and has been awarded multiple prizes at international competitions. She is also a recipient of various scholarships and foundation grants.
