Geneva Symphonic Ensemble

Music for all

An ensemble with variable geometry "according to its inspiration"

The idea was born from the desire to propose a structure characterized by its openness in order to go beyond the limits imposed by a fixed composition of an ensemble, or, by a standard repertoire or even by specific places or concert halls.

The project is therefore to create a new ensemble with variable geometry and great amplitude, ranging fromn the Symphony Orchestra to a Quintet, Sextet or Octet, passing by the Chamber Orchestra (strings alone or with winds).

Transforming on demand, from a few musicians to several dozen musicians, the ensemble can offer concerts of great variety and open up to a large number of styles, from baroque period to contemporary creation, for diverse audiences and different concert venues.

Classical music for everyone

Classical music is an art form that has long been considered the preserve of an educated and wealthy elite. It should be noted, however, that in recent years there has been a trend towards the democratization of Classical music, with an effort to make this art form accessible to the general public.

It is indeed crucial to break down cultural and social barriers to allow everyone to have access to classical music. It is a complex process that requires efforts from everyone. It is fundamental to create community projects such as the one carried out by the Ensemble Symphonique de Genève to bring people together around classical music, build bridges between different cultures and make this art form a common good accessible to everyone.
