Auguste RAHON

At the age of twelve, he entered the Conservatoire Régional de Lyon in Augustin Lefebvre's class where he obtain his DEM with maximum grade. He then entered the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève at the age of seventeen. There he studied first with Denis Severin for a bachelor degree and then with David Pia for a master degree. Between 2022 and 2024, Auguste was in residence in the Académie de l'Opéra de Paris, where he was specifically trained for orchestral cello playing.

Auguste is mainly interested in chamber music and orchestra repertoire. He regularly plays as a section leader in various orchestral ensembles both in symphonic ans lyrical repertoire. He had the chance to play for chamber music concerts with musicians such as Sergey Ostrovsky, Noémie Bialobroda, Paul Coker, Lise Berthaud, Juliette Beauchamp, etc.
He is also experienced with solo playing. His first concert as a soloist accompanied with an orchestra was in Prague with the orchestre du CRD du Puy-en-Velay, playing the Elegie de Fauré at the age of twelve. Later, he played some of the main cello concertos such as Elgar's, Beethoven Triple Concerto, Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations with various student or amateur orchestras in the area of Lyon.

Auguste was laureate of the Fondation Marescotti in 2021. He is now playing an anonymous eighteen century cello.
